I am a freelance consultant in information management. My work areas include libraries, electronic resources management, research support, open access, open science and capacity development activities such as designing and delivering educational programs in related subjects. Since August 2016, I have been working for the FAO of the United Nations and the COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories).
I hold an MA in library science as well as an Executive MBA. I has been in the library profession for 17 years and held the position of Director of Libraries at Özyeğin University, Istanbul, between 2011 and July 2016. I served as a member of TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) Open Science Committee for a year in 2015. I was a Steering Committee Member at ANKOS from 2011 to May 2016 and during the same period I was the coordinator of the Licensing Group and advisor to the OA Working Group. Since 2005, I have taken up a variety of roles in open access such as E-LIS (E-prints in Library and Information Science) editor for Turkey, founding member of the Open Access Working Group of ANKOS (Anatolian University Libraries Consortium in Turkey), as well as working in the OpenAIRE Turkish National Helpdesk team. I am the public lead for Creative Commons Turkey.
