About me

I have been working in the areas of open access, electronic resource management and information literacy for many years. I am a librarian by training, worked in university libraries in Turkey, served as a library director for over eight years. In ten years of this journey, I also worked in the Turkish national university library consortium (ANKOS) serving in open access and licensing groups as well as the steering committee. Since the summer 2016, I have been a freelance consultant in the library and information management sector in London, UK.

Currently, I work for the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. At COAR, I am involved in international alignment and capacity building activities by providing webinars and trainings for the global repository network. At FAO, I work in DFID-funded GODAN Action project and the Research4Life Initiative. In addition, I am Public Lead for Creative Commons Turkey and co-chair of Research Data Alliance BoF Group on Metrics and Indicators in Agricultural Sciences.
